A step-by-step guide on creating an SKU manually in Sirdab

Creating an SKU in Sirdab can be done in three ways:

  1. During the Inbound Process: SKUs can be created as part of the inbound shipment process, streamlining the workflow by adding new items directly while receiving goods.

  2. From the SKU Tab: Create a single SKU manually by navigating to the SKU tab. This method is ideal for adding individual items with detailed attributes.

  3. Bulk Upload of SKUs: Upload multiple SKUs at once using a CSV file. This is efficient for adding large inventories quickly and accurately.

1. Creating an SKU during the inbound process

Step 0: Start an Inbound Request

  • Login to your Sirdab account

  • On the left-hand side menu, click on the Inbounds tab

  • Click on the Request New Inbound button

Step 1: Click on Create New SKU

  • In the "Inbound SKUs" section, if you don't have the SKU listed, click on Create New SKU.

Step 2: Fill in SKU Details

  • A drawer will appear to create the new SKU.

  • Attach a photo of the SKU (optional)

  • Fill out the form:

    • SKU Number: Enter the SKU identifier used internally within your organization (if you don't have one, insert any number).

    • SKU Name: Enter the SKU name

    • UPC / EAN Number: Enter the UPC or EAN number (if available).

    • Value: Enter the value of the SKU (if available).

    • Dimensions: Enter the width, length, and height of the SKU (if available).

    • Weight: Enter the weight of the SKU. (if available)

    • SKU Categories: Select the SKU categories. (if available)

    • Brand: Enter the brand name. (if available)

    • Warehouse Type: Select the type of warehouse where the SKU should be stored.

    • Description: Add a description of the SKU (if available)

    • Has Expiry: Toggle if the SKU has an expiry date.

Step 3: Save the New SKU

  • Once all details are filled, click on Save to add the new SKU to the inbound request.

2. Creating a single SKU from the SKU tab

Step 1: Navigate to the SKU Tab

  • Login to your Sirdab account.

  • On the left-hand side menu, click on the SKUs tab.

Step 2: Select Create New SKU

  • From the "SKUs" tab, locate the Create New SKU button at the top right corner and click on it.

Step 3: Fill in SKU Details

  • You will be directed to the "Create New SKU" page.

  • Fill out the form:

    • SKU Number: Enter the SKU number.

    • SKU Name: Enter the SKU name.

    • Merchant SKU: Enter the SKU identifier used internally by the merchant.

    • UPC / EAN Number: Enter the UPC or EAN number.

    • Value: Enter the value of the SKU.

    • Dimensions: Enter the width, length, and height of the SKU.

    • Weight: Enter the weight of the SKU.

    • SKU Categories: Select the SKU categories.

    • Brand: Enter the brand name.

    • Warehouse Type: Select the type of warehouse.

    • Description: Add a description of the SKU.

    • Has Expiry: Toggle if the SKU has an expiry date.

Step 4: Upload SKU Image

  • On the right side, click on Select files to upload to add an image of the SKU.

Step 5: Confirm SKU Creation

  • Review all the information entered.

  • If all details are correct, click on Confirm to finalize the SKU creation.

  • If you need to make changes, click Cancel to discard the process.

3. Bulk uploading SKUs

Step 1: Navigate to the SKUs Section

On the left-hand side menu, click on the SKUs tab.

Step 2: Download the SKU Template

  • Click on Import New SKU.

  • Select Download SKU Template.

This template will help you structure your data correctly for the upload.

Step 3: Fill in the SKU Details in the CSV File

  • Open the downloaded CSV file.

  • Fill in the required SKU details:

    • SKU Number: Enter the SKU identifier used internally within your organization (if you don't have one, insert any number).

    • SKU Name: Enter the SKU name

    • Brand: Enter the brand name. (if available)

    • Has Expiry: Insert either "TRUE" or "FALSE"

Step 4: Upload the Completed SKU List

  • Go back to the SKUs section in your Sirdab account.

  • Click on Import New SKU.

  • Select Upload SKU List and choose the completed CSV file from your computer.
