How to manage a SKU's barcodes

Register the barcode printed on your product's packaging so the warehouse can scan it instead of counting by eye, then edit or remove it when it changes.

Register the barcode printed on your product's packaging so the warehouse can scan it instead of counting by eye, then edit or remove it when it changes.

Before you start: you need the real number printed on the pack (UPC-A, EAN-13, or GTIN-14). Invented digits get rejected.

1. Open SKUs, search for your product, and press its name.

step 1

2. Scroll down to the Barcodes card and press Add Barcode.

step 2

3. Type the barcode number, choose the packaging level, and press Confirm.

step 3

4. Press the pencil to change an existing barcode, or the bin to remove it.

step 4

5. Press Remove in the confirmation window.

step 5

Good to know

  • Type 12 digits and the table shows 14: the system pads zeros onto the front. Same barcode.

  • "GTIN has an invalid check digit" means a mistyped digit. Re-read the number off the pack.

  • The same number can't sit on two products at once. Remove it from the other one first.
